I have chosen to look at Richter as I find his work an expression of the human soul. I think Richter's work is a balance between control and chaos. His work is a satisfying display of the properties of colour and paint. He manipulates the paint and helps the paint express itself. Richter's work inspired me to think more about the different textures that my artwork could have. Some of His pieces are flat and others rough like a brick wall. He knows exactly what colours will work best with the type of texture he wants to use. He understand how to blend colour perfectly or how to just let them sit upon each other. I hope that I can learn how he maintains such order and control with his mediums.
