Bruce Riley is an artist that has gained notoriety through his fluid paintings. These 'paintings' are made from resin and different bright almost neon paints. The 'paintings' that Riley creates are unlike a traditional painting, instead of layering paint onto a canvas or other surface, Riley suspends the paint with the layers of resin.

This unusual method of creating paintings helped me to understand how my work could defy the traditional standard of painting that I want to unteach myself. The striking and almost theatrical movements of the paint is so unique and shows Riley's connection with the materials that he uses.
