Hilma af Klint - theory

I have been researching into Klint's theoretical practice as a way to further my understanding of the spiritual. Her spiritual beliefs informed her work as she used the spiritual world to guide her hand. 'The medium exercised automatic writings and mediumistic drawings', Klint's passion of using a medium to connect with the spiritual allowed her work to feel peaceful. This is something that I try to replicate in my Linocuts. I want them to be simple and have a sense of calm, yet I want them to be full of symbols that relate back to the spiritual.
