“The function of the artist in a disturbed society is to give awareness of the universe, to ask the right questions, and to elevate the mind,”

Abramovic's theory of art is to create waves, to disturb, and to disrupt. She uses her art to attempt to help society and others. She wants to cause change through her performances. Although my work is not a performance that is displayed for the eventual viewers of my work, I believe that the motions of the paint reflect the emotions that I felt. I want my work to be a protest against art society as well as a example to other artists that you do not have to do art that conforms to what other want.
