Although Paula Schers work doesnt have much to do with the theme I have chosen, I am still inspired by her work. I watched a documentary on Netflix called Abstract, and Scher had an episode dedicated to her. The more I watched, the more I was hooked by her work. She is fun, exciting, and methodical.

Scher has created some iconic pieces of work for clients but she has also created work for herself. Her series of maps was based upon her father being a map maker. She found inspiration by looking at her family and seeing how they have affected her and her life. Her maps feature beautiful and wonderful typography that describe the places that she includes on her map. I love her choices of colour, they are unforgiving and bold. She places together colours that I wouldnt have thought to put together. She takes her time and plans her each and every move. she uses feeling to help guide her choices. This is something that I plan on taking into my own artwork.
