This week in the studio I have been focusing on creating abstract pieces of work that don't necessarily use paint brushes. My aim for this week was to discover new tools that can be used in my work. I gathered a windscreen snow tool, wallpaper pasting tools, palette knives, and gloves. I have used gloves so that I was able to use my own hands directly onto the surface of the painting. This allows me to fully immerse myself into the painting. The tools chosen let me spread the paint as thick or as thin as I like depending on the pressure I apply. They let the paint move more freely around the surface of the painting instead of being controlled by the brush.

For this green piece I used the window screen scraper to drag the paint.

In this one I use a mix between my hands and a palette knife.

For this one I used the window scraper and a wallpaper tool.
