The Walker Gallery in Liverpool is home to a wide variety of art. This ranges from contemporary to the very historic timeless pieces. At the time that I visited the gallery, they had many different exhibitions happening along side their permanent collections of art. I was only interested a couple of the exhibitions that were taking place. One of these exhibitions was the show 'Kaleidoscope'. This show featured work from the 1960's that was created in Britain. It was interesting to see such a large collection of colourful and unusual artwork from one period in time. The work commanded the room and made you feel like you were back in the 60's. I was drawn to several of the pieces in the show. One was 'Quinquereme' by Tim Scott. This piece is a huge floor sculpture that uses curved edges to lead you around all of it body. The piece uses purple, navy and black as its colour scheme and this really sets the tone for the piece. It reminds me of when I am staring into the night sky and calms me.
