Over the past few weeks I have going to lectures that are part of my ART module. These lectures have consisted of information about Biennales, white cube galleries, community art, and digital art. From these series of lectures and talks I found the community art talk and Digital art talk the most interesting. In the community art talk we were told about the importance of artists that work within the community and how they engage with people in that environment. The art these artists create is inspired and influenced by that community around them. In the digital art talk with James Hutchinson, we learnt about how an artist can change a digitally create environment and use it as art. James talked about how he used a digital world server called Second Life. He was able to manipulate the environment by adding structures, objects, and people. He collaborated and talked with artists in other countries and could connect with them through this digital art space.
