I love and respect the way that Hodgkin talks about his work, especially in this video. I think that Hodgkin's opinions and feelings about his own artwork need to be understood before we can attempt to analyse his art. He is able to talk about his work with such a respect about the purity and the quality of it.

This Artist treats his work like a performance art piece. He includes the public by allowing them to view the intimate creation of this piece. He knows the right amount of pressure to apply to the surface of the paper. He understands the needs and the sensibilities of the paint. You can see that their art is something to be shared and not to be kept hidden away.
