Kandinsky's Circles in a Circle is a piece that's recently caught my attention. The simple shape choice contrasts the true complexity of the piece. It has sparked an interest in using shapes in my work. It is a way of adding something to the work beyond the traditional painting values. I have found that this piece is a gateway for my artistic development and that I do not have to think too much about what I include within my art. I have learnt that colour will help the shapes I chose in my work and therefore I should think carefully about their meaning.
